He never found a girl that didn’t immediately fall head over heels, and straight into his bed–until her.
Nate Peters is living the playboy life. He has great friends; a great job; no responsibilities; and best of all, no girlfriend to complicate things. Being incredibly skilled with a pick-up line, he’s never failed to get a girl in his life… until he meets Rosie.
Unable to stand a dented ego, Nate makes it his mission to win over this off-limits brunette, but it proves for one wild ride as Rosie has surprises of her own that rock Nate to the core.
Has the player finally been played?
Review
This is a stand-alone story which is connected to Kirsty Moseley’s “Nothing Left to Lose”. Remember my book boyfriend “Ashton Taylor”, the sexy bad-ass SWAT guy? Nate Peters is also a sexy playboy bad-ass SWAT guy like his best friend Ashton.
Damn! This book is so cheesy, but I liked it. Those pick-up lines from Nate never fails to make me laugh. One of the lamest and funniest of Nate’s pick-up lines would be: “I didn’t catch your name; wait let me guess it..I bet it’s Candy; because damn you look good enough to eat.” Hahaha, sorry, I really can’t contain my laugh with that line. And if you choose to read the book, you need to prepare yourself for it contains a lot of these cheesy and, well, lame pick-up lines. I can’t even imagine that a “player” uses those lines in real life.
Nate and Rosie are cute together. I like Nate’s transformation during the process of making Rosie fall in love with him. I think they are true about a playboy changing because of love. He’s changed but the funny and flirty Nate Peters is still there. I don’t like Nate being the player but I love how he delivers his pick-up lines. He’s really funny! I can’t add him in my book boyfriends but I can add him in my most unforgettable characters list. I bet having him as a big brother would be great. A player yet a very protective brother! I love that! And not to mention, I almost shed a tear when Rosie defended Nate to his father. That was really so touching.
My favourite couple which is Anna and Ashton are back and it is lovely to see them living their own lives. Nate’s family is so cool and his mom is so funny. I like how it’s been very easy for a single mom like Rosie to be accepted by Nate’s family which is somewhat difficult in a real life situation.
I really like how the story ended. We were given a glimpse on what happened to them after almost 15 years of marriage and about the love story of their son with Ashton and Anna’s daughter. So cute.
Reaction (Author & Plot)
Kirsty Moseley has created another cheesy yet very good romance story. Just like her recent book, “Nothing Left to Lose”, it never failed on making me laugh and enjoy the story. I also like how she used very easy to understand English terms, so to those non English native, no need to be afraid of reading this story.
The plot is very interesting. Not the typical love story that I have read so far, and this story is very fresh to me. I can’t really say any negative things about the story aside from the fact that I am expecting some suspense, you know the part wherein the heroine got kidnapped and the hero will rescue her? But it’s different from Ashton and Anna’s story so I should never have thought of that.
Final Thoughts
NLTL is still my favourite but this one is my second favourite! I really love the story. I can’t count how many times I laugh my heart out while reading this.
This is not your typical playboy who falls in love romance story. It’s filled with love and also lots of laughs. So if you are looking for a great romance story with a kick, this book is then a great choice!
