Even though her father is running for President of the United States, Grace St. Claire is as normal a girl as they come. She’s clumsy, shy, and an outcast among her peers. She even manages to nearly die in a freak accident in front of the entire school. But when Grace survives a vampire attack she quickly learns that she is anything but ordinary.

There’s something about human Grace that has all the supernaturals around her going crazy. Her best friend’s brother suddenly wants to date her. Her worst enemy has sworn to protect her even against her wishes. Someone with very powerful magic wants her dead, and the vampire that attacked her has developed an obsession with making her his eternal mate.

In order to survive—and not as Count Dracula’s undead bride—Grace dives head first into the terrifying world of the supernatural. She teams up with a charming but mysterious warlock who strolled into town causing trouble and spouting stories of a Prophesy and Chosen One that looks exactly like Grace. Together they must figure out why Grace is different, who wants her dead, how she’s connected to the Chosen One, and who they can really trust.

Review

What an addictive series. Just like the first book, Chameleon, this book also gave me a hard time sleeping early. As a result, I was soooo tired the next morning. But I have no complaints about it. This book is just so great that I can’t just ignore.

I thought Dani was going to be present in this book, but to my dismay she wasn’t. I’m still looking forward to reading more about Dani and Gabe. I am starting to like their love team even more, hehe. But ofcourse, that doesn’t mean I am forgetting Russ. I don’t have any favorite between the two hotties because I adore both of them.

It’s really good to know that Russ is actively involved in this book. At once, I was relieved to know that he’s here and I wished he and Grace (main character) would end up together. Oh my Russ! I missed your funny retorts. And I guess, Russ would be a perfect boyfriend. Why? Because he’s vain, you can always bring him along whenever you have a spa session, haha. Can’t get over the pedicure scene. Wish Ethan (main character’s warrior) have joined too, it would have been fun lol.

This story is somewhat crazy too. Haha, I can’t believe Grace, being bullied at school, is having a bunch of supernaturals hottie falling for her. And Andrew, the hard-headed vampire, is soooo annoying. I mean, how many times Grace has to refuse him before he stops pursuing her? And also, I can’t help remembering Klaus from the hit TV series The Originals of Andrew’s endearment to Grace, LOVE. My oh my, in other circumstances, I would have like Andrew. But he’s a pain in the ass in here, period.

This book doesn’t just have suspense, thrill and romance. It also has its fair share of funny scenes too. Which makes this book completely awesome! I can’t really forget the Twilight in 3D joke from Russ. Oh my! If Grace doesn’t want to watch it with you, then I will instead (haha, now I sounded like a complete fanatic).

I really love the book, but I was a bit disappointed by its ending. It’s a Cliffhanger, with a capital C! I even thought that my copy was cut off, which ended me pretty bad for I contacted the author about it, haha, what a shame! I expected that this could have a happy ending just like the first book. Oh men! I guess I need to hurry and read the third book, which is Russ’s story. I can’t wait. I hope this time he’ll find his very own happy ending without Dani but with me, ayeei hehe.
