Exploring Davao Crocodile Park

As part of my first ever solo travel in Davao last January, visiting the famous Davao Crocodile Park is a must. The Davao Crocodile Park is a major tourist destination in Davao and I have to tell you, it’s so worth it!

I love animal parks/zoos and it’s great that Davao Crocodile Park not only houses crocodiles but there were also some other animals such as ostrich, tigers, monkeys, birds and a lot more. The place is so huge and there’s a lot to see. I arrived there at around 3:40PM but I wished I went there early – there’s something about being surrounded by animals and hearing their sounds that relaxes your soul. Don’t you agree?

The Davao Crocodile Park is owned and operated by a group of business headed by Mr. Sonny Dizon, a resident of Davao City. The park is an establishment that showcases a “state of the art” crocodile farming system in the Philippines. It has the most recent crocodile farm design equipped with modern facilities and equipment. The presence of other exotic animal species like raptors, monkeys, snakes, birds, and other reptiles makes it one of the most desired tourist destinations in Davao.

The Davao Crocodile Park is open Monday to Sunday 8:00AM – 6:00PM with regular show schedule every Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 4:00PM.

Location

The Davao Crocodile Park is located at Riverfront Corporate City, Diversion Road, Maa, Davao City.

How to Get there?

The most convenient way is to ride a taxi from your hotel or anywhere in Davao City and it will only take you around 30 minutes (depending on your location). Normal fare is around Php120-Php150. As for your ride home, you have nothing to worry about. There’s usually some taxi waiting outside the park and some habal-habal or motorbike drivers for more affordable travel.

Experience

I really consider visiting the Crocodile Park as the highlight of my Davao travel. Just like sharks, I am also a little terrified of crocodiles but I really enjoyed my visit. There’s a ton to check out and I really enjoyed the shows, I was actually thinking of stealing one of the birds and take them with me, haha kidding.

And lastly, I was so amazed with Tribu K Mindanawan fire dance. It was absolutely the perfect act to end my Davao Crocodile Park adventure.

If you plan on visiting Davao City anytime soon, Davao Crocodile Park should be in your list, *wink.
