It’s been quite a long time since I’ve posted an article relating to travel and most importantly food so I’m wondering how should I start this article, haha. So please give me atleast three seconds to gather my thoughts. 1, 2, 3. Up!
Korean Cafes are nothing new in the Philippines, especially in Cebu. Korean Cafes are practically everywhere, even in the busiest part of Colon. So what set this 10,000 Roses Cafe different from the rest? If you can catch the name and ofcourse with the picture above, this cafe showcases 10,000 white roses that glows at night. Now, did I finally got your attention?
I’ve been meaning to visit this place since it’s opening last February but because of its unique setup, the place been receiving lots of visitors. If you know me, I’m allergic to crowds (arte te, haha) so I decided to wait a little. Until finally, last Sunday, I went there with the gang for our monthly meetup. And it sure live up with the hype because the place was really beautiful. It’s even more perfect when you go there around 4pm and below just in time for the sunset to show up.
The Cafe
The 10,000 Roses Cafe opened last February 8 in Day-as, Cordova Cebu, just in time for Valentine’s Day. It’s a very romantic place perfect for couples, family or even with friends especially during sunset and night time when the LED roses are all lit up. The two storey cafe has an air-conditioned area as well as huge spaces for al-fresco diners and guests. The cafe also has a roof deck which offers an amazing view of the ocean, the Cordova mangrove forest, and the ever-changing skyline of Metro Cebu.
As for December 2017, their menu currently offers coffee, smoothie, tea, ice blended drinks, panini, pizza, fries, nachos, pasta, and some complete meals. The drink prices ranges from Php110 to Php230 and Php250 to Php350 for the food.
They are open from 11am to 11pm. The LED roses lights up at 6pm or as soon as it gets dark. Also, there’s an environmental fee of Php20 that will be collected by the LGU at the entrance of the cafe. This is to help control the traffic and for the security for the people who wants to visit the place.
Location
Aside from the crowd, another thing that is keeping us from visiting this place was the location. It’s located in the northern part of Cebu which we aren’t really familiar with. But with the help of social media and google, I was finally confident that we won’t end up lost on our way there haha.
The 10,000 Roses Cafe is located in Brgy. Day-as Cordova Cebu just beside Lantaw Floating Restaurant (which we also went there to have our dinner).
How to get there?
As I’ve said, I’m not very much familiar with the northern part of Cebu so the only guide I could share with you was the route that we took for ourselves.
- From SM City Cebu, take a v-hire going to Cordova. Fare is only Php35
- You can ask the driver to drop you off at Gaisano Grand Cordova or you can get off at their terminal (I’m not sure you can call it terminal because they just park at the side of the road). We actually planned (or I think it’s just me, haha) to get off at Gaisano Grand but we already passed the Mall so instead we decided to just wait ’till we reach their so-called “terminal”.
- And from there, you will be approached with lots of habal-habal, trisikad or tricycle driver each of them offering to take you to 10,000 roses cafe. Fare is from Php15 to Php30. Depending on how many you are, you can try to haggle your way for much lesser fare.
There’s actually a lot of ways you can go to 10,000 roses cafe and the one I shared above are good for people who doesn’t like to be hassled on transferring between jeepneys. But if you’re a budget traveler, you can try other alternatives like riding a jeepney or ferry boat. You can check out this article from Chayajane for some alternatives.
Our Experience
10,000 Roses Cafe is undeniably far from the Metro and it took us not less than 1 hour and 30 minutes. Riding the v-hire going to Cordova took most of our time because of the traffic. It’s Sunday so I thought there’s going to be no traffic at all. The tricycle ride going to the cafe only took 10-15 minutes and when we arrived, we we’re greeted with the LGU officials to collect our entrance fee. Haha, but seriously, I was really amazed with the place.
I’m not fond of long rides just to drink coffee, but my! If I’ll be greeted with these beautiful roses that lit up at night and with a perfect location to gaze the sunset, then I wouldn’t mind the long ride at all. Just look at the whole place! It’s just beautiful. Sugoi ne! (translation: amazing)
I don’t usually drink coffee because I have low tolerance with caffeine (even if I consume half small pack of an instant coffee, it could make me stay awake until 3AM!) but I do love the taste of coffee especially with creamer. So when I have a long day ahead, I drink one. When we arrived at the cafe, it’s already 4:30pm, with photoshoot and all, we entered the cafe around 5:30 and since it’s too late to drink coffee, we ordered their ice blended drinks and stayed inside until they lit the LED roses outside.
Even after 10 months since the cafe opened, the place is still flocked with many people which I’m pretty sure most of them we’re just there to take a picture. So yep, whenever I point my camera, there’s some who’ll do the same too, hihi, so it was really hard to get the nice angle.
So, would I still like to go back? Sure, why not!

Final Thoughts
I really like the place. People loves unique so no wonder this place is always jam-packed. The only thing I could complain about this place was the CR, it was clean and all but they only have 1 CR each. So yep, lining up just to satisfy your bladder seems like a bother. But overall, it was a very decent cafe with amazing view. I can literally see myself enjoying a good book at the roof top or in one of their benches near the water.

Wow…it must looks wonderful all lit up. How romantic. I bet a lot of folks propose there.
That was actually the plan of the owner *wink They also have in mind that someday it could be a perfect place for wedding. My! I can’t wait for that to happen hehe

Wow, that looks amazing Vanessa and what an experience! It looks like it’s worth the day trip to go and see at least once. Being further out of the city, perhaps they’ll build up the area a little more and make it a tourist attraction. Great photos Vanessa, so glad you all had a great time! <3
This place is just new so I’m sure there’ll be more attractions to be added in the future. Thanks Kelly 🙂
Oh my goodness. The nighttime photo is amazing! I was not expecting them to be so bright. This is a really unique place and I can totally see why it’s so packed. Although, I, too, am allergic to crowds… but I feel like this was well worth it.
Yes, this one’s definitely worth it. The place was just amazing. I wish it’s just near our place because it’s definitely a perfect place to read books minus the crowd 😉
