Dahil… Baka Sakali… Baka Sakali…

Kaya mo bang sumuko sa pagba baka sakali?

Review

It’s been quite a while since I’ve checked the third and final book of the Baka Sakali trilogy because the last time I checked, it’s on-hold and I thought it would take a long time. But dang! I never thought I let it slip this long!

As you can remember, I was not that impressed with the first two books of this Trilogy.  Unlike Jonaxx’s other stories, it was cliche and a bit corny. So instead of feeling ecstatic because of those romantic scenes, I feel like I wanna laugh because it was corny. I don’t want to spoil both of our moods so I’ll start my review for its third book.

It’s been almost 2 years since I’ve read the book two of this series so I was kind of confused about what’s happening. As I can remember, book two ended fine between the main characters so I was kind of groping in the dark in its first few chapters. I can’t take it any longer so I decided to read the last chapter of both book 1 and book 2, but to no avail. I decided to just proceed reading the third book in the hopes that it will contain some sort of what happened in those three years since they broke up.

Yep, I know it’s a spoiler guys so I think it’s safer if you try to refrain reading the story right after reading this review, haha. Give it atleast three days and you’re good to go.

In this story, I never read something that I hated from both the first two books in this series. And that’s really a relief! This story may have started quite a bit confusing but I guarantee that it’s only in its first few chapters. Because the moment you reach the later part, all will be properly explained.

If you happen to read my reviews on its first two books, you will know that unlike most of Jonaxx’s male characters, I wasn’t that impressed with Jacob. And in this book, there are times that I really really really want to smash his head on the cement. So yep, even after these three books, Jacob still failed to make me fall in love with him, though I think it’s almost working a little in this story, haha!

Rosie on the other hand is fine. I have no complaints about her character excluding those parts where she can’t seem to move on from Jacob. Well, that was understandable since she refused to face it during those three years.

It was also great to be reunited with their friends like Teddy, Ron, April and the likes. So far, this story is my favorite of all three books. There’s quite a number of characters but it will not annoy or make you confused because you can easily point them all out.

There’s two new characters in this story that I kind of admire. They are Felicity and Duke. On its first few chapters, I am really rooting for Duke. He’s handsome, nice, understanding, and mature so no wonder I want to sell myself to him haha. But unfortunately, Rosie is still in the process of moving on so she can’t seem to like him the way he likes her. Too bad! But no worries Duke, I am available haha.

And obviously, Felicity is Jacob’s new girlfriend. Reading those parts, I really wanna tear Jacob apart, how dare he! But in all fairness, I love the girl. She’s nice and friendly. And not just that, she let Jacob free so both him and Rosie would be happy together.

As expected, this story is more matured compared to the first two books. The settings happened after Rosie graduated from College and is now working. All the scenes and lines are solid steel. And lastly, both of the main characters’ feelings about the break up all makes sense and that’s really a plus. If I have 5 hands right now, I am sure I’ll be clapping all of them because of this story.

I am only giving this story a 4.5 rating because Jacob failed to make me swoon, but overall, this story is highly recommended.
