Clay Preston is the most desirable guy in school, and boy does he know it!

Movie star looks paired with a quarterback’s body, he’s every girl’s dream guy–but not mine. To me, he’s simply my best friend, the one who has been there as far back as I can remember.

Our relationship has always been easy, playful and affectionate, but after one lost bet, and one payment in the form of a kiss, the dynamic of everything changes…

Review

This was quite a long read. And just like the previous book from the author that I read entitled, “The boy who sneaks in my bedroom window”, it also talks about family and was started as a teenage love. (which I usually love <3)

When I was just starting reading this book, I really can’t help but giggle in every sweet part and lines that I read. It was just so sweet that it makes me want to go back to my teenage years and experience it again.  As you can see, I’m not really that hard to please, *wink.

Riley (main female lead) and Clay (main male lead) were best friends since they were kids. But dang! I wasn’t really expecting them to be THAT close.

And also, just by reading its first chapter, I already noticed Clay’s true feelings towards Riley. And I can’t help my giggle. Clay’s character is every girls’ dream guy. He’s good looking, sweet, thoughtful, nice, damn hot and all the nice adjectives you could think of. Obviously, it was quite unrealistic, but I was able to picture out his character, it was just Riley’s that I find so hard to picture out. Or maybe, I’m just being bitter eh? hahaha.

I honestly loved the story when I was just starting it. But I was quite disappointed when I reached the middle part. It was quite boring and I started to hate Riley’s character. She’s acting like a slut and I wasn’t impressed with her being seductive especially to Blake. And also, she’s very vulnerable, which is one of the very annoying things about her.

I was quite impressed with the suspense part. The idea of having a super hot suitor who turns out to be an obsessed stalker was quite creepy. (sorry for the spoiler) Dang, I almost fell in love with him! And also, the part where Clay was stabbed not just once but twice (sorry for another spoiler) was really annoying. I just think that it doesn’t stick well on the story.

The ending was also quite predictable, the only one that I think wasn’t was the part where they were blessed with twins. (Haha, another spoiler!)

There’s nothing in this story that is quite amusing for me aside from the suspense ofcourse, which is the reason why the stars above aren’t that blinding. But who knows, you might like it more than I do.
