Review
It already got my attention the moment I saw that super cute cover! So when Nukozuke was offered to me, I didn’t waste my chance, *wink.
Nukozuke is about the story of these two adorable Nukos with their new owner after they were abandoned. Nuko are actually cats who evolve to be more like humans. Imagining it sounds a bit frightening, lol. But they are just like a normal cat but with the ability to talk and have mental capability like a human.
Yes it’s not a very fresh idea, but I really enjoyed it. I love cute things so reading each page feels like heaven for me. I love that everything was so easy to read despite the abandonment scene in the first chapter. That scene gave me more realization of how pets felt when they are abandoned by their owners, and as a pet owner myself, it felt really personal. So for pet owners out there, please think twice before you abandon your pets, or those who are planning to get a pet, please be responsible and treat them like a family.
But as I’ve said, Nukozuke was pretty easy to read. It’s nice to see these two adorable Nukos finally enjoying their lives and eating well. Their owner is quite lazy hahaha, but he’s definitely a responsible owner. I love how he sews new outfits and cooks good foods for them.
Aside from the mentioned characters above, we also got introduced to a new character, who is Yuya’s friend and is also their neighbor. Unlike Yuya, this dude looks like a responsible adult so I was really laughing when I got to know more about him, wahahaha. This manga definitely didn’t skimp on adding more diverse personalities for its characters, *wink.
There’s also a bonus chapter which gives us a glimpse on what happened when Yuya finally adopted the Nukos. It’s really cute how Yuya prepared everything for his new babies. Awww <3
As for the art, it looks so cute! I don’t think I’ve met a slice of life manga that I didn’t like the character designs, and it’s no different this time. I especially love the illustrations of the Nukos, they are soooooo adorable! There’s also a character introduction and a little description at the end of the story, so it really felt that I know the characters really well now.
I don’t think I have anything that I didn’t like in this manga, which explains the 5-stars above, *wink. I can’t wait to see what volume 2 is in store for us! Yasss!
