Sometimes when you can’t go back, the only way out is to descend into the darkness.

My Captor
When I woke in that place, I just wanted to survive. But survival came at a cost, for which they demanded my will and body.

My Master
With pain came acceptance. Fully-dependent on the man who claimed me, I learned to appreciate what I had-life and relative safety.

My Protector
I watched him spill blood and tend my injuries. With betrayal came a revelation. The only way out was to bring them all down or die trying.

IRREVOCABLE is a dark romance intended for adult readers 18+ only. Not intended for those easily offended by dark subject matter.

Review

I don’t read sypnosis when I am about to read a book, but looking at the cover, I was sure this one is going to be a hot read. And it sure was, although not what I expected.

I can’t seem to get enough of yaoi and webtoons lately so I’ve been having a really hard time finding books that I could get interested in. That’s why I was really delighted when I instantly liked the writing style of this book as early as its first few pages, and as you can see, I did finish it. But it wasn’t that easy.

I was really surprised that this one is a BDSM read – a very dark one. It was a real challenge to continue reading after that abduction part, it was just too…intense. Not sure if that’s the precise word to describe it, but then again, Fifty Shades of Grey is the only BDSM book I’ve ever read so I don’t really know anything. 😅

Rose’s life changed drastically after she was abducted. Reading about what she went through was really hard, but even after all of that, she still continues to fight and live. It wasn’t easy, especially that there’s this crazy guy who is also after her. I admire the girl for being such a tough cookie despite everything, just can’t imagine what I would do if that was me.

Kirk on the other hand sounds really dangerous. He made Rose’s life really hard at the beginning and it doesn’t sit well on me. It was just too hard to read. But…surprisingly, I just can’t totally hate the guy. Probably because I have a feeling that he’s the main lead here and if he is, then he will obviously change right? I think it’s not just because of that, I just felt that there is more than just meets the eye. And yep, I got it right but not what I expected. I don’t want to elaborate because it will spoil you, *wink.

Eventually their “relationship” as master and slave started to get better and I thought it was going to be cliche after that. Kirk will leave the syndicate but the boss won’t allow him to leave alive – that kind of cliche, but I was surprised by the sudden turn of events. I’m glad the author didn’t go on the cliche route.

Kirk and Rose’s life wasn’t easy even after their nightmare at that horrible place, but I am really happy that after all of that, they were able to heal together. It wasn’t easy but they were able to do it because they have each other. And I really appreciate the happy ending.

Irrevocable is a very dark twist to your usual BDSM romance so this is definitely not for the faint hearted.
