Cana Aleyna Delafuente, “the ignorant girl” of the Delafuente clan who has a childlike and sweet personality hooked herself from someone she doesn’t even know too well. She used South Buenaventura in order to let her out. Ang alam ng lahat ay may namumuong relasyon sa kanila kahit ang totoo ay ginagamit niya lamang itong panakip-butas sa kanyang kilos para makita ang tunay niyang gusto. Her innocence will bait her into a situation that will change her.

Years later and I’m now back to wattpad! I’ve been neglecting my wattpad account since Jonaxx created her own app, so I was feeling a bit nostalgic to be back!
When I got back, the first thing I did was skimmed through quite a few stories, thanks to Tik Tok reels recommendation, lol. Then I found this author, Ineryss. I’ve been seeing a lot of positive feedback on her stories, so I said why not?! To be honest, I was quite skeptical because I was not sure if I would like her stories ‘coz it’s been quite a while since I read from a Filipino author aside from Jonaxx. And as you can see, I was fortunate because I ended up loving it!
Hooked started with an intriguing prologue, which left me wanting for more. I actually didn’t read this story’s summary, so I really don’t know how this story will go. Surprisingly, I loved the writing style right away. Another thing I liked early on was the Delafuente cousins which reminds me so much of my favorites Montefalco cousins!
To be honest, I was actually quite alarmed because I thought this is going to be like a cheap copy of Jonaxx’s Montefalco series. Sorry for that term, but that was what I really feared reading the first few pages of this story. Luckily, I finished the first chapter, vanishing the thought completely because now I know that this one is going to be different. Yas!
The romance between the main characters started really well. I’ve read lots of romance stories already, so I was really glad this one gave me something a little different from what I imagined. I was actually quite scared at first because I thought this is going to be another Klarijah love story because of how close the FL is to her cousin, luckily I was wrong, wheew.
Then the flow of their story after that was really great! I love how the two of them or should I say that FL finally had a little bit of consciousness of how she felt about the ML. Everything was smooth sailing after that until the conflict came crashing through leaving a stop to their budding relationship.
But ofcourse if there’s a conflict, there’s also a resolution. It was actually more like a closure for what happened in the past which I’m glad we were spared of some annoying dramas. But instead, they gave us some annoying side chicks making the main lead’s relationship a little bit frustrating for me. I don’t like second ML or second FL in my romance because I felt like it would be cruel to build up their character but in the end they will not be chosen. This one has it, and it felt like I was the only one making a big deal out of it?! But overall, it was still ok because there’s no annoying drama on the part of the FL, but there’s an annoying fly on the ML’s side which was a little frustrating. Good thing they gave us a satisfying conclusion (world shattering slap, wahahahaha) after that.
The whole story was taken from the FL’s POV which is normal in a romance story, but luckily we have 2 chapters taken out from the ML’s POV after the conclusion of the main story. After that, we also got an epilogue which I really love. There’s no marriage or kids in the epilogue, but we are given the assurance that they are going there. And I love that because it gives us a chance to imagine what their married life would be like based on what we like it to be. Although I think it might be mentioned in the next books in this series? Probably? hahahaha.
As for the main characters, I was not a big fan of the FL. She’s very ignorant and innocent in the start of the story which was absurd since she’s already 17 years old. The way she acts and thinks makes you think that she’s an 8 year old kid. It was quite unrealistic for me since she’s not from the mountains outside civilization so how come she’s like that?! But oh well, it was explained that it was because she’s very sheltered by her parents, especially her cousin, White. Then after the conflict, she was reborn and became so liberated. Luckily, there’s still some of her old personality in her. She’s still pretty nice too, just don’t make her angry though, wahahaha. She’s very jealous too (only to her man), and she kisses a lot, wahahaha. Also, I didn’t like how she didn’t talk to Chain (2nd ML?) about her relationship with the ML considering that he’s been with her almost all the time and she knows he’s looking for a relationship with her. Since he was such a nice and sweet guy to her, I think that is just right to have a one-on-one with him and be clear that there is going to be no romantic relationship between them. Also, I felt like Chain could be a great friend to her, although I don’t think the ML will allow considering their history, lol.
The ML on the other hand was very mysterious and charismatic. I actually liked him early on since I also like my ML to be a little mysterious. It was also nice reading his double meaning words and sweet actions to FL, lol. But then we got to read about the conflict, then his “relationship” with the girls. I was quite annoyed by it, wahahaha. But I guess he regained some of my trust when I read all of the things he did to finally be allowed to go near the FL and gained her family’s approval. The proposal was quite sweet too. It’s still my first story in this series, but I am already sure that he’s not my favorite, wahahahaha. But don’t be saddened because overall he was a nice guy (hot too btw) and he gave me lots of “kilig” moments, wahahaha.
As for the other characters, this one had a lot. But it was very easy to become familiar with, especially the Delafuente cousins because they all have unique personalities which I am sure you’ll have a favorite or two afterwards. There’s also a lot of memorable characters in this story that I am sure will make your reading experience even more enjoyable. I also love that it gives a hint on a couple that will have their own story in this series. Waaahhh, I can’t wait to read the second book!
Lastly, there were also some sexy scenes in this story which were really hot. It was so good that I keep on imagining it every time I was reminded of this story, lol.
