Review
I really find My Purrfect Boss really interesting after reading that first panel. Looking at the title, I thought it’s going to be a fantasy yaoi read, but not exactly. The only thing different is that aside from humans, there are also people called Anthromorphs – they’re humans with animal characteristics. So imagine one of the main characters having cute kitty ears and a tail. Super cute right?
This story started with Sunwoo meeting up with friends and telling them how he always messes up at work. And because of that, he thinks that his boss hates him. While on their way to their second drinking spot, he spotted his boss drinking alone. And Sunwoo being Sunwoo, invited himself in and accidentally poured soju all over his boss. Little did he know, everything started to change after that.
It was just a very short read and may be a bit ordinary. But I liked how I felt while reading this story. Although there’s a really persistent ex here (I hate exes!) I didn’t feel that it was a heavy read. Instead, I find it really cute. I just love how their relationship progresses and finally become an official couple. I am not a fan of office romance, but their interaction at the office is just really cute to read.
The visuals of the couple are very cute too. I love that the uke (Manager Kang) looks really hot (but really cute when he’s in his cat form) and the seme (Sunwoo) looks really cute which is usually the other way around on my usual yaoi read. And I really like that!
The ex is really annoying but I am actually glad that it didn’t drag on too long. It was also funny how the seme tied him up after what he did to the uke lol. I just thought it’s going to be a really grim read during that part.
As for the characters, I don’t really have any complaints at all, hahaha. There were some insecurities there and then, but it is really understandable. I was just glad they were able to fix that issue without the drama.
The ending was simple, but really cute and I really like that! My kind of HEA doesn’t always involves marriage and kids, a simple one where the couple is just happy loving each other is enough, *wink.
