Every night at 10, Dong-gyun locks himself up in his room, grabs a box of tissues, and watches a live cam boy show hosted by Alex, a BJ (broadcast jockey). Timid Dong-gyun admires not only Alex’s ripped body, but his candor in sharing his sexual experiences with viewers. One night, Dong-gyun downs too many drinks at a school networking event and passes out. When he wakes up, he’s in bed staring up at a shirtless hunk. A hunk who looks an awful lot like…Alex.

Review

I didn’t like this story instantly. But I LOVE the illustration, especially the character illustration of Jiwoon (aka Alex). He just looks really really really hot! (You know me, I’m a sucker for hot characters, wahahaha).

*Warning: I might drop some spoilers below so read on your own risk.

I’m not particularly a fan of the first half of this story. To be honest, I think the plot is pretty much average. I think the only thing that makes it interesting is that one of the main character is a well-known BJ (broadcast jockey) for a very famous gay site. And yes, I know what you are thinking, wahahaha. This one indeed has a lot of spg scenes, so this is really not recommended for young readers.

The main characters’ story started on the physical side, so obviously one of them is bound to fall in love. It was really hard to read this part of the story, I just feel bad for the other guy. But everything that happened after that was actually moving. Dang! I hate to admit it, but I think that’s one of my favorite parts in this story. Technically speaking, it’s pretty much what you would expect to happen after they “broke” up, but I just love how the author was able to portray the raw emotions of the main characters, especially on Jiwoon’s side.

That said, I absolutely love the second part of this story. It finally introduces us to the main characters’ backstory, and I can’t help but feel sad for the both of them. The main characters experienced something traumatic, no wonder they all have to carry those baggage. So after all of what they went through, I’m really happy that they were able to meet and fall in love. Everything just look so sweet after that <3

For the characters, the reason why I hated the first half of the story was mainly because I hated how Jiwoon treated DG. It was just too harsh. DG on the other hand is a pushover, so I can’t also help it but get annoyed sometimes. But then after that conflict, I love seeing the growth of their character. I’m just like a big mama who is so proud of my babies for being able to face and conquer the things that made them suffer.

There’s also some extra chapters for the other couple (DG’s friend & Jiwoon’s “friend”, wahahaha). I really think that how they met was pretty cute. Although their spg scenes were just too hot for me, weew.

And I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the ending! It was just perfect.

Reading the extra chapter after the ending makes me miss the characters. It’s funny, because it’s not like I stopped reading the story after the ending lol. I guess you could say that the characters really left a big impression on me.

Looking for any good yaoi stories to read? BJ Alex is definitely a nice choice. I’m sure you’ll learn to love the characters as much as I did, *wink.
