Fujishima Takara goes to high school and will start living in a dorm because he has lost all his family except for his father, who’s always away for his work. Takara has to share a room with Kosaka Kyomine. Living together isn’t easy, and many rows ensue. Kyomine is very introvert, while Takara is just the opposite. At first the two get on each other’s nerves because of those differences. But things turn towards friendship and later on towards love.

Review

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MANGA!

This manga is definitely far from what I imagined because I only expected lots and lots of boys love but this one gave me more than that. Unlike the previous boys love manga that I’ve read before, this one is very wholesome and super super cute which I definitely love. Ofcourse I love pure boys love story but I also love slice of life so the idea of combining the two together hits big for me! It was great that the author was able to combine them together so flawlessly, plus there’s a lot of funny parts too which doubled my enjoyment.

I don’t think I have any complaints with the story at all. I just said I love it didn’t I?, hahaha. I think the only thing that I find confusing at times were the illustrations of some characters. There’s just some characters that almost look the same so it gets me confused at times. But overall, I think it wasn’t that big of a deal since as you can see on the rating above, I ENJOYED the story overall.

I mention this a lot of times on my reviews, but whenever I watch or read something, I always take notes. And as for this manga, the majority of what I wrote is the word cute. This manga is just so cute that I think on every page that I come across, I always utter the word cute, hahaha.

As for the main characters, I love the combination of the cute Fujishima Takara and the handsome Kiyomine Hosaka. They were like cats and dogs at the beginning and how it escalated to what they are now is just very rewarding to read. During the first volume they were bickering and then eventually got very so close together. Although they still keep on fighting once in a while, you can really see that it was different than before. They’re like a married couple really, hahahaha. I love seeing Takara, he’s just really so cute that I want to squeeze him. I also love his personality, I just love how caring he is, and that innocent side of him is so cute to read most of the time, hahaha. So adding that tough side on him really surprised me, but I think that makes his character even more enjoyable to read.

Kiyomine on the other hand is like your typical shoujo main male lead. He’s gorgeous, intelligent, rich, etc. And adding that sister complex to his character was quite entertaining to read, although there were times that I want to strangle him for that. Why? Because whenever his sister is involved, he can utter such hurtful words to Takara and it’s pissing me off. That backstory of him was also very sad to read so seeing how he changed after meeting Takara is so heartwarming. That was definitely a nice character development on his part.

Aside from the main leads, I also love most of the other characters in this story too. I love how the author also takes time to showcase other characters too which will make us get to know more about them and eventually get to understand their way of thinking. There were ofcourse some annoying characters here too, but whenever I see Takara and Kiyomine being so sweet together, my annoyance just magically disappears. And oops, I almost forgot hahaha, there were some other characters here too that you can help but ship together, so look out for them, *wink.

That ending was kind of lacking for me since I WANT TO SEE TAKARA AND KIYOMINE KISSING but it was still a nice hopeful ending overall.

Looking for a nice wholesome boys love story with a slice of life? Then I definitely recommend Komatta Toki ni wa Hoshi ni Kike. I can guarantee that you will enjoy this too!
