F*ck marriage, that’s for people who’s afraid of growing old and dying alone. Why bother when I can easily arrange for someone to euthanize me on my deathbed? And why would I settle for one if I can easily partake on different kinds of free and willing pussies?

Well, those were my thoughts before Dede died. Ngayon ay parang isang malaking biro ang mga bagay-bagay na inilatag saaking harapan. Pagpapakasal kapalit ng lahat ng hinahangad ko? My grandfather’s got to be f*cking kidding, forcing me into committing to an unbreakable bond with a wh*re named Carmen Laurel.

And what is up with her name anyways? Why does it has to sound so f*cking sexy inside my head? And why does she have to be smart too? And that lips of hers, makes me wonder…

Makes me h-…oh f*ck no, I will resist this. Sino nga ba siya? No one, just a wh*re that I have to deal with. Tama, yan ang dapat kong itatak sa isipan ko.

For I am after all, Dustan Gozon.. I hunt, I prey and f*ck the desirable willing and I am in no way going to be enslaved by such damsel hiding in a wolf’s clothing. No other f*cking introductions necessary.

Review

Just like the first book of this series, Thespian Tragedy is just a short but very enjoyable read. The first thing that caught my attention was the blurb. Unlike the first book, this one was taken from the ML’s pov which makes it quite interesting for me. I am familiar with the ML since he was mentioned in the first book, and honestly, I don’t have a good first impression of him. But that blurb was really intriguing, hahaha. I can’t wait to see how this foul mouth bastard will undergo change in this book, and fortunately, the author didn’t disappoint, *wink.

Unlike the first book, Thespian Tragedy gave us more information about the organization (like a mafia) that handles Wonderland. I actually liked that since we didn’t get the chance to know more about it in the first book. And seeing that the organization is a big part of this story, I thought this is going to have a lot of action packed and complicated elements (guns and goons etc.) which honestly I am not looking forward to, hahaha sorry (my mood has quite sensitive lately huhu). But luckily, this one didn’t go through that route, yahoo!

Yes this story didn’t have some complicated action scenes, but the sexy scenes were SO HOT AND INTENSE, wahahahaha. I should have anticipated that since this story started with an SPG scene, lol. And unlike the first book, this one has A LOT and they’re more leveled-up than the latter, lol. So get ready, *wink.

Excluding the sexy scenes, I believe that this story is a light read. There were no hair pulling exes, annoying misunderstandings and stupid decisions in this story. Heck, even the conflict didn’t look like one since they were able to talk it out right away without much trouble like what a real adult should do. And I really like that! Talking and listening to each other really goes a long way especially in a relationship. So we should really strive for that!

As for the characters, surprisingly, I don’t have any complaints at all. I really thought I was going to hate the ML, but heck, I was really impressed when I finished this story. It’s really good seeing his character development. He was such a big brat at the start of the story, and I know it was because of his painful past, but it was still annoying. I don’t want to talk more about his past because it was really painful and no child should experience that, huhuhu. Having said that, I was really delighted when he finally changed and grew into a somewhat acceptable person, lol. The idea of a person changing because of love is quite cliche, but the ML’s character development was so well-written that it feels like I am sinning if I don’t appreciate his effort to change. He’s not just the best boyfriend to the FL, but he’s also the best older brother to FL’s brother. Waaaah! His interaction with him is really so wholesome, I love it!

The FL on the other hand is such a fighter. She had a rough past but I really admired how she pushed through life despite all the pain and hardships she encountered at such a young age. She already had my attention in the first book, but for this story, I learned to appreciate her character even more. She wasn’t just a very good friend to Rory (her best friend, and the FL of the first book) but also a best sister to her brother who has down syndrome. I just can’t imagine how hard it was for a then twelve year old FL facing everything alone while caring for her brother, huhuhu. Aside from being such a fighter, I also admire her determination to be better and not just settle for being a “freelancer”. She worked hard to graduate so she can find a better job not just for herself but also for her brother. A big applause for you girly!

There were some familiar characters in this story which is really nice to see. Aside from them, there’s also new sets of characters introduced which makes me even more excited for the next book!

The romance was pretty good. It was nice seeing how the ML fell in love and it felt pretty natural too. On the other hand, for the side of the FL, it felt quite quick for me. I feel like the FL fell quite easily considering how cynical she was about love and marriage in the beginning. But maybe it’s just for me? But other than that, the progress of their romance was quite smooth. I also love how the ML showed her he’s serious about their relationship and gave the FL such a massive assurance. Big thumbs up for you dude!

Lastly, this story was taken from both the FL and ML’s pov which I really love! It’s HEA but there’s no wedding or a baby, but it was heavily implied that they are going there, *wink.

If you are looking for a short spicy read, then Thespian Tragedy is highly recommended! It’s the second book of the Wonderland Series, but I think it’s still possible to read standalone (which I don’t really recommend, hahaha. Read the previous book first, I guarantee it’s not going to disappoint, *wink). Happy reading!
